The ADCC held the fifth Annual Meeting of the Membership at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carlina on September 24-26, 2019. The organization is growing (now 38 competition and convention members) and making an impact on the dance competition industry. Thanks again to all our wonderful sponsors, and congratulations to all for a fascinating, fun, and productive meeting!
ADCC Members gained insights into leadership, the future of dance media and generational workplace interaction from presenters and workshop leaders, and discussed common issues and best practices at moderated roundtables.
Attendees also learned about programs and services offered by Business Partners and Vendor Fair participants Custom Built Awards, DRC Video Productions, TourPro Software, ConferenceDirect, DanceComp Genie, Iconic Trophies, LBW Insurance and Financial Services, Crown Awards, Gerriets Dance Floors, HelmsBriscoe, Performance Stage, Inc., PSSL-ProSound & Stage Lighting, and Media Sponsors Dance Media, DanceCompetitionHub, and Inside Dance.
The ADCC celebrated the impressive accomplishments of twelve Industry Excellence Award recipients (read more about them here).
The ADCC membership elected a new slate of officers for 2020: will continue in their roles for the 2019-2020 term: President Sean Flanagan of United States Tournament of Dance & CRU Dance; Vice President for Marketing Will Shover of Dance Machine ANDC & Boogie Fever USA; Vice President for Governance David Sanders of Legacy Dance Championships, Treasurer Sandra Walsh of Elite Dance Challenge; and Secretary Jennifer Rosenburg of Precision Arts Challenge. Ginny Faubell of Beyond The Stars & Breakout will remain on the board as Past President.
Continuing At-Large Board members in January 2020 include Melissa Burns of Turn It Up Dance Challenge, Gina Dudash of EnerGy National Dance Competitions, Kayla Scurlock of Elite Dance Cup, Shari Tomasiello of Headliners Dance Championships, and new Board Member Steve Wappel of StarQuest Dance Competitions.
The ADCC Membership also thanked retiring Board Member Melissa R. Tessier of Sophisticated Productions Dance Competitions for her service to the organization.
