College Dance Scholarships

A core component of the ADCC’s mission is to support excellence by providing College Dance Scholarships for outstanding young dancers.

Each year, The ADCC receives 40-60 applications, and has awarded 12-18 scholarships per year since 2013.

Who is eligible?

Any 2017 graduating high school senior who has been accepted to a four-year accredited college or university program for the 2017-2018 school year, and who has competed in at least 2 ADCC Member competition events during the 2016-2017 season*, is eligible to apply for and receive an ADCC 2017 College Dance Scholarship.

Applying is easy. Students just complete an online application form, and provide a personal essay, a letter of recommendation from their dance studio director or teacher, a high school transcript, and a headshot.

Applications are due no later than 5:00 PM on August 1, 2017.

Scholarships will range from $500 to $1,000 and be given directly to the college the winning student will attend.

2017 ADCC College Dance Scholarship Application

The deadline for 2017 Scholarship applications is 5:00 PM on August 1, 2017.

    A one-page typed essay, (PDF or Word format), describing why you are passionate about dance and what dance has meant in your life.
  • Accepted file types: pdf, word.
    A one-page typed letter of recommendation (PDF or Word format) from your Studio Director/Owner that reflects their opinion of why you should receive a dance scholarship from The ADCC.
  • Accepted file types: jpg, png, pdf.
    A copy/scan is acceptable (JPG, PNG or PDF format only); does not need to be official transcript.
  • Accepted file types: jpg, png.
    A high-quality current digital headshot photo (JPG or PNG format; will be used on website if awarded).
