Michelle Kresge doesn’t have a lot of extra time. She’s busy doing what she loves most—sharing her passion for dance by creating an environment for dancers to learn, grow, and express their artistic talents.
As owner and national director of Spotlight Dance Cup, a professional dance competition, she’s on a tight schedule that takes her staff from Hawaii to Minnesota running competitions from January to July.
Michelle comes from a family of seven who all took their first steps in their mother’s professional dance studio. She is also an accomplished musician (voice, piano and saxophone).
“Dance has always been a part of my life… from the time I was 3 years old and growing up in my mother’s dance studio. It has been my passion and has developed me into the person that I am today. It has contributed to attributes that I most value… hard work, dedication, teamwork, and self-confidence.”
Her dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm are exactly why the ADCC was so proud to have Michelle as our first Board President.
“I am so excited to be a part of The ADCC!” says Michelle. “My vision for this organization is to be all about GIVING BACK to the dance community through offering thousands of dollars in scholarships and providing industry resources and networking opportunities.”
She adds, “The ADCC benefits anyone and everyone involved in the dance industry. For convention and competition owners, the opportunity to network with peers, to give back through scholarships, to recognize industry excellence with awards, and to be a part of something bigger than one’s self is invaluable.
“Dance studio owners, teachers, dance professionals, and dancers have access to educational information, master teacher and choreographer pools, and job opportunity boards, as well as be eligible for scholarships, recognition, and awards.
“Dance industry vendors will have the opportunity to share their products and services with all other members and to be a part of our annual ADCC conference. As you can see, there is something for everyone!”
Thank you to Michelle and to Spotlight Dance Cup for being our first Platinum Member of The ADCC, and for all you do to support the dance industry.
